RECOMMENDED SKILLS & TRAINING LEVEL

Best conditions (0-1’ waves, wind 5 mph or less, no current): open water certification with 5 or more independent dives logged.

Intermediate conditions (1-2’ waves, wind 5-10 mph, mild current): open water certification with beach entry training, 20 independent dives logged.

Sporty conditions (2-3’ waves, wind 10-15 mph, moderate current): advanced certification, rescue diver preferred.

Rough conditions (waves 3-4’ or more, wind over 15 mph, strong current): No diving.

DISTANCE FROM SHORE & COMPLEXITY

First patches appear approximately 100 yards due east of entry point. Rubble and minor natural structures continue eastward with some patches of beach erosion sand in between.

Know distance from shore at all times because it is tempting to tour eastward, enjoying the sights and losing track of location. Depth may increase to 26’ before arriving at the first reef, which is approximately 600 yards or more from shore.
